There’s never been a better time to fall back in love with proper hi-fi. From the warmth of 1960s valve amplifiers to the clean, powerful solid-state receivers and decks of the late 1980s, these machines were built to last — and they still sound exceptional when looked after by someone who understands them.
At Ripley’s Repairs we’ve spent years working on professional and amateur audio equipment. Now we’re focusing that experience on the classic hi-fi that so many people are rediscovering: amplifiers, receivers, turntables, cassette decks, CD players, speakers and the rest of the golden era of home audio.
We know these designs. We know the common faults, the quirks of particular brands and models, and how to get them working properly again without losing their character. Whether it’s a tired power supply, noisy pots, a dead channel, a slipping belt, or a full recap and service, we’ll diagnose carefully and repair properly so the gear can keep doing what it was made to do — for years to come.
